Mining the Oort, by Frederik Pohl. SF (From my Nov-Dec 1999 Livingroom Recent arrivals pile.

I've read this before, probably as a serial in Analog or Asimov's SF.

But I love Frederik Pohl's writing & want to soak it up again.
